Sand mining wrangle ends in fist fight at Oniipa

MANY fear blood may be shed in the near future, following a fist fight between a community activist and an Ondangwa businessman involved in sand mining. The fight happened on Monday afternoon at Ondando sand mining pit between community and anti-sand mining activist Jesaya ‘Rasta’ Nambundunga and businessman Petrus Shambo.

Confidente is reliably informed that Nambundunga and Shambo had a fierce fight on Monday after a heated argument about sand mining activities at the site. Ondando village is in Oniipa constituency and hosts a big sand mining pit where many business people from and around Ondangwa town extract sand to sell to their customers.
