Shaama praises parties for their role in voter education

Peter Shaama, the Electoral Commission of Namibia’s chief electoral and referenda officer, has praised Political Parties for their significant role in voter education.
Shaama made these remarks at the Media workshop engagement at Windhoek Country Club and Resorts, in which the media met with ECN officials to discuss the programme of Activities and engagement.
Shaama said that voter education is needed, and letting alone ECN educate voters on the importance of voting will take time and will be costly. “We appreciate different political parties for being on the ground to educate our people on the importance of voting. Parties are using their funds for community engagement, which is a good thing,” he said.
