Simon Jr eyeing titles
By Michael Uugwanga
HARRY Simon Jr has assured the nation of more titles starting next year. Simon Jr. will be in the ring for his final match against Henrique Lando of South Africa in Walvis Bay this weekend.
Known as Son Of God (S.O.G), Simon Jr, the son of great boxer Harry Simon, will square off against Lando in a 10-round international contest at Jan Wilken Indoor Complex.
Speaking to Confidente, Simon Jr, who has one loss in his career and continues to contest the result of his loss against Zimbabwean fighter Issa Aliyah Phiri in July this year, stated that he is a better boxer than his next opponent.
“I have done what is necessary to win this upcoming fight. The rest will come naturally in the fight as opportunities present themselves.
I have faith in myself and my team. Next year, expect belts from me.
I’ll be quite busy next year with numerous overseas fights.
I am the better boxer. Thus, I am sure to win.
“All fights are important, but this one has an advantage because if I beat this guy convincingly, it will boost my boxing record (boxrec).
My record is 20-0, and I am still contesting my loss from earlier this year,” he said.
