Suicide tops police crime report in Khomas

THE Khomas region has recorded a staggering number of 24 sucide cases in the last three months.

According to statistics provided by the Khomas regional police spokesperson, warrant officer Silas Shipandeni, out of the 24 cases recorded are teenagers under the age of 16, which tops the list.

Shipandeni said the increase in suicide cases is attributed by mostly depression and lack of mental health support.

“Suicide in the Khomas region is becoming a very serious offence to us law enforcement. We are appealing with the public to seek psychological health support if they are having depression or other negative thoughts.

Relatives should look after each other and finding out how are others feeling as well as communicating with each other on a daily basis.
