STANDARD Bank Namibia has become the first corporate to heed MTC’s call to join the Namibia National Internship Initiative (NNII) which the bank will support with a N$ 200 000 cash injection.

This comes after MTC called on 53 other corporates to join hands in upscaling the NNII programme to be a nationwide vehicle for internships.

The Internship Programme which was birthed by Minister of Education, Training and Innovation, Dr Itah Kandji-Murangi on June 17 2019, has paved the way and granted students opportunities to experience studied work practically making them more employable.

Together with the office of the Prime Minister, MTC following the nationalisation of the Internship Program last year, announced a N$ 2 million per annum injection into the programme.

Standard Bank Namibia Head of Brand and Marketing, Magreth Mengo said the programme’s vision aligns Standard Banks idea of driving growth and invest in the local youths by granting them endless opportunities as they are pillars of the bank’s victory.

“Graduates and interns are in fact the future employees of corporate Namibia and an investment in them is an investment in ourselves and the Namibian economy which determines all our success. We hope this contribution is a symbol of hope to students in search of opportunities.
