Nedbank cycle challenge launched

NEDBANK Namibia’s continued support of cycling will take centre stage at the 38th edition of the Nedbank Cycle Challenge.

The Nedbank Cycle Challenge, known as ‘the greatest ride under the sun,’ is one of the country’s oldest sports events.

Since its inception in 1986, the event has risen in popularity among cycling enthusiasts, with thousands of cyclists competing each year in the hopes of becoming champions.

This year’s race will take place . Cyclists can compete in 20 km, 30 km, 60 km, or 100 km races.

The race will begin at the Nedbank Campus, located at the corner of Fidel Castro Street and Rev Michael Scott Street, and terminate on Independence Avenue in front of Zoo Park.

Speaking at the Nedbank Cycle Challenge launch, sports minister Agnes Tjongarero said the event brings together citizens from all walks of life, connecting them in a shared passion for cycling. “This task is encapsulated by the concept ‘Greatest ride under the sun.
