Swakop wins Kwela Town of the Year

SWAKOPMUND residents and officials are beaming with pride this week as the popular coastal resort was voted Kwela Town of the Year 2019 from among 30 of the most picturesque places in South Africa and Namibia, raking in twice as many votes as the nearest contender.

The award is offered by the South African-based television network KykNet and could provide a healthy boost to local tourism and trade as it comes with no less than N$1 million worth of advertising on the Afrikaans-medium KykNet channel
