Swakopmund approves busking guidelines

The Swakopmund Municipal Council approved the Swakopmund Busking Guidelines during the latest Council Agenda Meeting, which was recently held in the coastal town.
Speaking at the occasion, Wilfried Groenewald, the Alternate Chairperson of the Swakopmund Municipal Council Management Committee, said that implementing the Swakopmund Busking Guidelines will ensure the safety of the performers and residents.

“By providing clear guidelines and standards, Council will aid in creating a conducive environment for street performers while ensuring the safety and comfort of all residents and visitors,”
“It will also contribute to the enhancement of cultural vibrancy, community engagement, and public enjoyment within the Municipality,” he said.

Furthermore, the Municipal Council’s Alternate Chairperson revealed that busking at the coastal town will be provided free of charge for the following financial year, and the consideration of a fee will be revisited in that year.
