Teacher claims N$350 000 from Govt

THE Ministry of Safety and Security and a police constable from Oshakati are being sued over allegations that the officer unlawfully arrested and assaulted a local teacher last year.

According to court documents seen by Confidente, the officer who is only referred to as Constable Kandenge, allegedly assaulted the teacher, Absalom Kambindji with a pistol and arrested him without a warrant of arrest.

Kambindji in his particulars is claiming N$150 000 for the pain caused by the assault and N$200 000 for loss of freedom when he was detained for three days at Oshakati police station.
