The Beast expects easy ride against Makorova

BOXER Mateus ‘The Beast’ Heita says he expects an easy outing against Zimbabwean boxer, Bongani Makorova in their scheduled featherweight non-title contest on July 13 in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Heita (25) is the current World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Super Bantamweight title-holder with a record of nine fights and no defeats since turning professional in 2018 and will be inside the ring against Makorova, who boasts of three wins and two defeats from five fights.

Three additional boxers from the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy will join The Beast in Zimbabwe, namely Onesmus Nekundi, Sebastianus Nathaniel, and Nestor Amukoto.

The Beast told Confidente that he does not expect a difficult fight against Makorova and that his envisioned victory will boost his ranking.

Before becoming a featherweight boxer, The Beast held the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Bantamweight title.

“Winning against Makorova in this featherweight debut will earn me a ranking.

This fight will be just another experience and a warm-up for me as it is meant to keep me occupied. This fight, hopefully, will help me fight for another title.  Makorova is not someone who will cause me any trouble,” he said.
