• By Rosalia David

AWARD winning musician Monica Pinias popularly known as Top Cheri will be releasing her fourth individual album titled Dual on November 30.

In an interview with Confidente, Top Cheri’s management described the upcoming project as one of the best albums ever saying that it consists of songs with a different feel.

“This is our best project I would say. Not so many songs made it to the album and it was tough to select them as all the songs were recoded with so much passion and time,” the manager who goes by the name of Mepani M said.

Dual consists of 17 tracks with a touch by renowned producers such as Andrew on the beat, Sam E Lee Jones, Kboz, DJ Flow, M-Jay, Chris Wayne, Solani Glo and Focus.

The musician said the team also plans to release prodigious visuals for a song titled ‘Lambela’ that will be launched alongside the album.

“The music video is a product of Pac, a brand which was initiated to plug local Namibians with the necessary visuals or to merely assist with growing different creative brands through this umbrella,” she said.

Asked on what inspired the title of the album, Top Cheri said she worked with the best of both worlds; the producers who are comfortable with her original sound and those who have managed to create a different sound with a unique feel for the project.

“I have worked with producers who know my sound and those who have a different sound and I feel I have explored both worlds.

It’s an album with a different feel and tempo while I still have my Katutura sound hence why I titled it Dual,” she explained.
