TopCheri takes the silver screen

AWARD-WINNING musician Monica ‘TopCheri’ Pineas has taken the creative industry by storm as she announced her latest project ‘Life’ is set to premier in cinema on April 5.

Drawing from her passion from her passion for acting, Pineas reflects on her journey, citing her early involvement in Chrisman plays and church concerts as the foundation of her love for the craft.

“Acting has always been a passion of mine, and growing up, I was always involved in anything that had to do with creating.

From a young age, I participated in Christmas plays and church concerts and before people knew me as Top Cheri, most knew me as Naango from Captain Kalola.

“My first acting role was playing Naango in Captain Kalola, and in that movie, I was a sister to three problematic brothers. Playing that role was very easy for me, and all I had to do was be myself.
