…Kahungu sets eyes on top Swapo women’s position

The Swapo Party Women’s Council congress is slated for next week and nominated for the top position is former Windhoek mayor Fransina Kahungu.

In an interview with Confidente reporter, Hertta-Maria Amutenja (H-MA), Kahungu (FK) said if elected, her aim is to create endless platforms for women.

H-MA: The Swapo Women’s League is a central component of the ruling party. What has prompted you to compete for the top position?

FK: This league is well known as Swapo Women’s Council. In the year 2016, I contested to become a deputy secretary for SPWC already by then comrades were talking that I should take up the position of secretary. I declined that request.

The reason was for them to allow me to learn and really understand the whole system. So for now I am serving as the deputy secretary and as a capable deputy I strongly believe that I qualify to stand as the secretary for SPWC.
