Unproven Covid drug on the local market

LOCAL specialist physician Dr Ismael Katjitai has said that the Ivermectin drug should not be sold in local pharmacies even though Confidente is reliably informed that some pharmacists and doctors are prescribing and selling the drug to their patients claiming it is effective against Covid-19.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises that the current evidence on the use of Ivermectin to treat Covid-19 patients is inconclusive, until more data is available, WHO recommends that the drug only be used within clinical trials.
