Usakos: A Gateway to Economic Prosperity

The mayor of Usakos, Irene Simeon-Kurtz, recently emphasised the town’s potential as a pivotal gateway for imports and exports during a business stakeholders’ engagement in Walvis Bay.
The gathering aimed at harnessing efforts between municipalities for the greater advancement of the Erongo region, recognising the diverse landscape and rallying stakeholders towards a common goal of regional upliftment.
Simeon-Kurtz highlighted the significance of such engagements in paving new strategic directions for Usakos and the broader Erongo region.
“The Erongo region is Namibia’s most prominent tourism hub, with approximately 9000 inhabitants. Usako0s could be a gateway for imports and exports with a well-developed warehousing service that serves as a dry port between the coast and inland.
