Vaccine scramble impedes Namibia’s Sputnik V acquisition

A scramble for the Russian vaccine, Sputnik V in which bigger countries ordering larger dose quantities are being considered first at the expense of smaller ones such as Namibia, has delayed Namibia’s pursuit of the over 90 percent effective Covid-19 vaccine.
In an interview with the executive director in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe this week, Confidente managed to establish that health ministry officials recently met with Russian representatives in Windhoek to map a way forward in Namibia’s bid to acquire the vaccine.
