Wernhil Fashion and Lifestyle Extravaganza thrills

By Martha Nangombe

THE Wernhil 2023 Fashion and Lifestyle Extravaganza dominated the first month of spring with a thrilling showing that mesmerised all and sundry.
Wernhil Shopping Centre, a property of Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group subsidiary Broll Namibia, hosted a shopper competition, a call for local models, and several fashion events, culminating in a final Fashion Show in the shopping centre’s atrium.
The celebration began with the launch of the Shopper Competition, which lasted from August 25 to September 26 and allowed contestants to win a share of N$40,000, redeemable at any Wernhil store.
One major highlight of the day was the Wernhil’s Model Competition, which invited aspiring models from the public to walk the runway.
The runway was truly the people’s runway, with nine models chosen to celebrate local modelling talent.
Professional modelling tutoring from an experienced choreographer and show director was part of their award for being selected as public models.
Winners also walked away with dinner vouchers from Pasta Polana, another event sponsor.
On the day of the Fashion Show, energised Master of Ceremonies Edward Ward, stole the day with his antics.
All public models sported looks from TFG Limited and enjoyed the bonus of being able to keep their clothes after the event.

The following public models walked the runway in the following brands:
• Shaun Gereseb – Totalsports
• Willy Iteriteka – Sportscene
• Delight Makute – Exact
• Aquella Cloete – The Fix
• Magdalena Nangenda – Foschini
• Geraldine Heuer – Jet
• Elifas Lineekela – Relay Jeans
• Catherine De Klerk – Sportscene
• Mario Tjazerua – Markham
