Williams is going strong at 44 in the women’s game

LEGENDARY footballer Stella ‘Stone’ Williams, who plays club football for Beauties FC Ladies in the FNB Women’s Super League (WSL), is still getting more vital in the women’s game despite being the oldest player at age 44.

Williams, born in the dusty street of Katutura, is also a former great netball player and sprinter. In her younger days, she played football for various clubs, including the 21 Brigade Ladies team, one of the dominant forces in the women’s game.

She is very happy at Beauties, where she continues to play 90 minutes every game against some two or three-times younger players. However, her contribution to the women’s game will be noticed not only by those who follow the women’s games but also by the media.
