World Youth Festival opens new opportunities for Russia – Africa Cooperation

By Confidente Reporter

RUSSIA hosted the World Youth Festival early this month, a prominent worldwide event that brought together young people who dream of a more humane and just future.

In his inaugural statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasised the WYF’s significance as a symbol of solidarity, multiculturalism, and diversity of views and traditions.

He said to the representatives from about 300 ethnic groups at the event, “In Russia, we understand how important diversity is as a force of progress and mutual spiritual nourishment. Our multi-ethnic country comprises hundreds of cultures, languages, and customs; brotherhood among peoples has always been Russia’s major pillar, advantage, and force.”

He also stated that multi-ethnic unity, which has always been Russia’s defining virtue, assisted Russia throughout history, particularly in defeating Nazism and winning the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
