Written in the stars for tennis protégé Campbell

Since she began playing tennis at age 10, Hilya Campbell, one of the nation’s top-rising tennis prodigies, has made a name for herself as a top female player.

Born 15 years ago in Keetmanshoop in the Kharas Region, Campbell has won multiple local tournaments and is currently rated third among female players in the under-16 division.

Tennis might not be the most followed or appealing sport code in the country, nevertheless athletes like Campbell are the ones working hard making sure that the sport develops into one of, if not the best, sport code in the country.

Tennis is not one of the country’s most watched or followed sports, but it is the fourth most viewed sport globally, with an estimated viewership of over a billion people. Many of the world’s most well-known athletes, including Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Rafael Nadal, Vanessa Williams, Steffi Graf, Novak Djokovic, and many more, have made their names in the sport, and Campbell says she plans to follow in their footsteps.
