Wuxi Journey: Journalists Explore Yadea and Hodo Group

IN the course of the weeklong trip starting from March 19, a group of 33 journalists from 32 developing countries embarked on a journey to explore the innovative world of electric mobility. Their destination? The sprawling Xishan Electric Vehicle Industrial Park, home to Yadea.

The journalist embarked on the journey from Beijing to Wuxi on an international media program, Travelogue of China, co-hosted by Global Times Online (huanqiu.com)  and the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA).

As the journalists stepped into the park, they were greeted by the hum of electric engines and the promise of a sustainable future.

Yadea is a prominent Chinese manufacturer leading the charge in the electric two-wheeler market, the company has long been a leading player in the global electric two-wheeler market.

The company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability has garnered widespread acclaim, making its products a popular choice among consumers worldwide.

In addition to its headquarters in China, Yadea has a US office, a German operation centre and branch in Vietnam.

Yadea’s product line-up spans various categories, including electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, electric mopeds, and electric scooters. These vehicles are not only popular domestically but also globally, with Yadea’s boasting a presence in over 100 countries and serving more than 70 million users worldwide.

During the visit, the journalists learned about Yadea’s extensive research and development efforts, which have resulted in the accumulation of over 1,900 national patents.

The journalist group experienced first-hand how Yadea’s electric bikes and scooters seamlessly integrate into daily routines, providing efficient, convenient, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

One of the highlights of Yadea’s electric bikes is the incorporation of intelligent battery management systems (BMS). These systems offer over 40 layers of protection for the battery, significantly improving its lifespan and safety levels. Additionally, Yadea’s electric motorcycles feature dual 72V32Ah lithium battery packs, known for their ultra-high energy density and removable design for convenient charging.

Yadea’s commitment to performance and safety is evident in its latest electric bike models. The introduction of an 11kW motor unlocks unprecedented power, delivering excellent acceleration and maximum control to riders. Comfort and safety are further prioritized through features such as ergonomic design, advanced braking systems, and superior shock absorption.

Among the showcased models were the Fierider, a luxury e-scooter boasting a maximum speed of 100km/h and exceptional car-grade lighting system, and the EzeeGo, powered by a 4.9kW high-performance wheel hub motor for agile and consistent performance.

Another standout model, the VFX, offers boundless power with a maximum speed of 45km/h and advanced features like keyless unlocking and energy retrieval system.

Yadea’s product lines encompass a wide range, including Voltguard, Orla, VFX, X7, Q9, Modern, T20, M20, E8S PRO, Y1S PRO, Y1S, VFN, G5S, C1S PRO, Rayman, DT3, T5, Camper, C8, and more.

With seven years of operation and bases in China and Indonesia, Yadea ensures efficient manufacturing and customer service to meet global demand,” Wang said.

The journalists also got insights into Yadea’s dedication to environmental sustainability and user convenience.

“With advancements like graphene batteries, energy retrieving controllers, and fast-charging capabilities, Yadea continues to push the boundaries of electric mobility technology,” Wang added.

The journalists eagerly hopped on Yadea’s electric bikes and scooters, ready to experience the future of mobility. It wasn’t just about the ride; it was about the experience. Yadea’s electric vehicles promised more than just transportation; they offered a glimpse into a world where daily commutes were efficient, convenient, and environmentally friendly.

As the journalists zipped through the park, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of empowerment—a realization that they were part of something bigger, something transformative.

Gambian Journalist Fatou Sillah from Kerr Fatou Online Media House says “The bikes are amazing, they are beautiful and the products are really good and strong.  I think this bikes can last for years. An electric bike purchased from Yadea can be passed down for generations to come.

“The really electrified our lives. The technology of Yadea’s Bikes is out of this world and again speaks to China’s high quality innovations, environmental sustainability and a people oriented market,” Sillah said.

Following their visit to Yadea, the journalists proceeded to the Houdong Smart Apparel Factory, a manufacturing facility utilizing 5G technology.

Established in 1957, the Hodo Group has been instrumental in the growth of the clothing, tire, and pharmaceutical industries and is currently ranked as the 80th strongest entity in China’s manufacturing sector.

Notably, the Hodo Group has collaborated with China Unicom to establish the first smart factory in the domestic clothing industry.

The integration of 5G networks has revolutionized assembly line processes, enabling real-time monitoring of workshop operations and facilitating online customization of clothing for customers. This advancement fosters direct interaction between factories and consumers.

During their visit, journalists witnessed first-hand the utilization of 5G technology to operate production lines, reducing reliance on labour and enhancing efficiency.

The Owner of African Voices Website and the Egyptian Voice of the Nation who is also the Editor-in-Chief at Al Bawaba News Ahmed Abdellah Faris told Confidente he believes that the use of technology in this industry increases production and reduces human errors.

“It reflects the decisions of the two annual sessions, which demanded that the industry be of high quality to achieve greater public attraction to Chinese products on the continent,” Faris said.
