Young poet and author inspires

IN 2012, Laudanekwa Itumba’s writing talent was discovered. Then a grade 9 pupil at the Haudano Senior Secondary School at Okalongo in Omusati region, she was discovered by her language teacher who advised her to take her writing seriously.

Following this, she authored a poetry book titled Tupamo (Give us) in the local Oshiwambo dialect while still at school.

“I can say writing chose me. Since when I was young, I liked writing that’s why it did not come as a surprise that I am doing poetry and writing books,” the 24-year-old Itumba from Onheleiwa village told Confidente this week.
