Betzilla Namibia has demonstrated its commitment to community wellbeing and education in Okahandja by generously donating N$50,000 to support bereaved families and enhance school safety measures. This significant contribution will provide much needed relief to affected families and aims to create a safer learning environment for students.
The betting company, headquartered in Okahandja as a Namibian online sports betting and casino platform, stepped forward to assist the grieving families following the heartbreaking deaths of three young Okahandja residents: Beyonce Kharuxas, Roswinds Fabianu, and Ingrid Maarsdorp.
Of the total donation, N$30,000 will be allocated to cover the funeral expenses for the affected families. The remaining N$20,000 will be used to fund the installation of CCTV and ICT equipment in schools identified as vulnerable, with the goal of enhancing learner security.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Betzilla Namibia, Davis Mika, informed Confidente that the company believes in the com- munity and that this was not their first donation, although some are not publicized.
“Our entire team is deeply touched by the brutality and senseless killings that have shaken our Okahandja community,” said Mika. “We extend our heartfelt condolences. This N$50,000 contribution comes directly from the company’s net trading revenue generated on April 27th, 2025.
While larger payouts to big winners on that day meant we couldn’t contribute even more, we prioritized this commitment to our community. We hope this support helps the families and contributes to greater safety for our children.”
Mika also expressed his appreciation to Betzilla’s customers, acknowledging their indirect role in enabling the donation. “Betzilla
customers must be proud of their indirect contribution to this important community support,” he added, noting a significant 50% increase in betting activities this year.
Addressing broader societal issues, Mika emphasized, “It starts with us men, urging individuals to step up and be accountable for
their actions.” He further stressed the importance of emotional well-being and encouraged those struggling to seek help instead of resorting to harmful decisions.
“Seek counselling if you are hurting; taking a life is not an option,” he concluded.
