Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor (Erongo RED), officially celebrated its 20th anniversary on 1 July 2025, a significant milestone in powering communities and driving development across the region.
The distributor has grown from modest beginnings into a billion-dollar enterprise, with its chief executive officer, Immanuel !Hanabeb, revealing that the company now generates over N$1.6 billion in annual revenue, up from just over N$180 million in its early years.

These women are harvesting and selling devil’s claw to Chinese companies and local suppliers across the region, creating job opportunities and changing lives in the process.

Samora Machel constituency councillor, Nestor Kalola, has dismissed recent claims that he has been absent from his office due to a missing key, labelling the reports as fabrications driven by political frustration from his opponents.
The reports, which circulated earlier this week, alleged that Kalola had not been showing up for work and had lost access to his office. However, the councillor refuted these allegations, explaining that the key incident was misrepresented and politically motivated.

Former First Lady and executive chairperson of the One Economy Foundation Monica Geingos has revealed her 10-year plan, adding that she has no interest in joining politics or returning to the corporate world. 
Instead, Geingos says that her focus is on leadership training and mentorship as well as prioritizing youth development across Africa. She made these remarks during the 10th anniversary celebration and fundraising soirée of the One Economy Foundation in Windhoek recently. The event raised a total of N$3,422,900.

The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises says the government has been spending a total of N$120 million annually to pay private contractors for the management and distribution of social grants across the country. 
However, with the recent announcement to cutout middlemen, such as the current contractor, Epupa Investment Technology and the handover the operations to NamPost, government is expected to save up to N$54 million annually in this transition. NamPost will officially assume responsibility starting 1 October 2025.
 

On 21 July 2025, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah launched Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), a blueprint that many are calling the country’s last and most decisive push toward realizing Vision 2030.
