Graced by Namibia’s most prominent event organizers, hosts, and influencers, the KFC Kentucky Town event launch was an extravaganza aimed at introducing the franchise’s latest menu offerings.
Hosted by the gracious Ruby the Dime and co-host Adriano Visagie, the night featured an array of promotions, including an appearance by a Colonel Sanders look-alike, which added amusement to the well-planned menu and activation event launch.
Perfectly timed servings of the latest signature cocktails and KFC finger foods, featuring menu items such as the infamous Dunked Wings, Loaded Fries, and Cheeseburgers, kicked off the 11-day event. The event, scheduled from March 19-29, 2025, at the KFC Mega Centre, located behind Grove Mall, began with a successful launch.
Using the hashtags #TasteTheHype and #KentuckyTownWindhoek, influencers ranging from popular musician KP Illest and digital content creators Cherol K and Twinfluencers to DJ Solange, ensured they spread the word among their combined following.
During the official ceremony, KFC Namibia’s Chief Executive Officer and Franchisee of the Year (2016), Grant Wheatley, and Marketing Executive, Nicky van Huyssteen, shared their excitement for the upcoming activations. They emphasized that the new menu items complemented the already amazing food being offered.
“We all know KFC for one thing, and that is the amazing food. Tonight, you are all going to try some of the most exciting new menu items you’ve ever seen. So, enjoy them. They are exciting. It’s something different, and we can’t wait to serve you,” Wheatley remarked.
The night’s entertainment included a high-energy performance by renowned local songstress Lioness, whose show brought the house down while guests enjoyed the limited-edition menu items.
Among the invited guests who graced the Kentucky Town event launch were fashion designer Ruberto Sholts, Mercedec Benz Namibia (M+Z) brand ambassador Pombili Shilongo-Tjelos, actress Tjuna Daringo, and musician Top Cheri.
In addition to the food items, KFC-branded merchandise and clothing items are available for sale. The event also features gaming/fun zones, a 360 photo booth, and various other pop-up stalls, all designed to provide customers with a fulfilling KFC experience.
