The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with 37 local tourism stakeholders, represented the country at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025, this week.
Organised by South African Tourism, the three-day Indaba, is hailed as one of the continent’s largest and most prestigious leisure tourism trade. It kicked off on 13 May in Durban and ended on Thursday.
According to NTB, the event serves as a premier platform for promoting African travel experiences to a wide network of international and local buyers, destination marketers, and leisure service providers.
“Namibia’s presence at this year’s Indaba reflects a strong and united tourism front, with co-exhibitors ranging from government entities to private tour operators, lodges, and aviation partners,” NTB revealed.
Among the prominent exhibitors were the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Namibia Airports Company, Fly Namibia, and Gondwana Collection, Ultimate Safaris. The event also featured products of community-based operators and small businesses operating in this sector.
To complement the exhibition, NTB also hosted a “networking with Namibia” B2B cocktail reception and a public relations engagement.
The Namibian-themed evening was designed to facilitate business-to-business connections, offering international buyers and media an opportunity to engage directly with Namibian suppliers, and to discover the country’s unique travel experiences.
NTB highlighted the importance of building strategic partnerships and marketing Namibia as a top-tier destination for sustainable, cultural, and adventure tourism.
