Namibian teams send off for FIH tournament

The Namibian indoor hockey team received an official send-off on Monday at a press conference held at the Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service offices.
The event was attended by key sports figures, including the Deputy Minister of Sport, Dr. Emma Kantema-Gaomas, and the Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sports Commission, Freddy Mwiya.
The team is set to represent Namibia at the 2025 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in Poreč, Croatia, taking place from February 3 to 9.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of Sport, Dr. Emma Kantema-Gaomas, highlighted the significance of Namibia's participation on the global stage.
Carin Slabbert, President of the Namibian Hockey Union, provided insights into the team's preparation for the prestigious tournament.
Slabbert commended the players and coaching staff for their dedication.
This marks a monumental opportunity for Namibia to showcase its talent on an international platform, as the team competes against 12 elite nations from across the globe.
