Award-winning hairstylist Nokuthula Peace Ncube, (Nocky), says her hand-made instant dreadlocks will always be a sought-after product, because of her consistency, quality work and respect for the customer. 
Hailing from Zimbabwe, Nocky came to Namibia to pursue a media qualification and this led to the establishment of her salon in 2010. 

The salon specializes in hand-made instant dreadlocks that allows people to have dreadlocks instantly without waiting many years to grow natural dreadlocks. 
Speaking to Confidente this week, Ncube shared her passion and talent, a fire she says started to burn since her high school years. 
“Long back people used to have to wait for a long time to grow their dreadlocks but now with Nocky instant locks that is not necessary at all,” Ncube narrated. 

The hair specialist has a staff compliment of four employees and her love for hair has won he two Zambian-based Zimoko Africa Awards for best hair stylist Ncube went on to launch and host the Namibia Hair and Beauty Awards (NHBA) earlier this year. 
The awards comprised of 14 categories and recognized the best nails technicians, barbers, braiders and massage therapists among others.

“As a two-time award-winning hairstylist myself, I realized that there was no platform locally which celebrated the Namibian hair and beauty service providers. That is why l came up with the idea of the awards,” she added. 
Despite socialites and media personalities like Tjuna Doringo, Treza Cooper and David Mbeha being some of Ncube’s clients, she maintained that the selling point of her business is the quality of service her clients get regardless of their status.
“To me, everyone that chooses to do their hair with us is very important, irrespective of their status and l treat and appreciate all my clients the same,” she said.

Ncube further explained how she overcame her career’s biggest challenge. She explained: “Remaining competitive is my greatest challenge in my business because navigating a competitive market requires effective marketing strategies, product differentiation, and a focus on customer satisfaction.”
She encouraged aspiring hairdressers and business owners to never stop dreaming, work hard so that their dreams become a reality. 

“Consistency and hard work are the keys to growing your business and developing a strong brand identity while communicating it effectively can help a business stand out and grow,” noted Ncube. 
“Clients need to be respected. By choosing you, they deserve the greatest and respectful treatment from you as a businessperson.”
With the demand for her services growing, she has aspirations of expanding the Nocky Hair Salon in the near future.
