Letting go is hard. Whether in life or leadership, most of us wrestle with it. We hold on to stories, memories, and familiar ways of doing things, especially when those things once brought us success or comfort. But there comes a time when we must recognise that what once helped us grow might now be holding us back. As someone who has spent more than two decades in media, public relations and strategic communication, I have come to appreciate the power of storytelling not just outwardly, but inwardly too.

Namibia’s national meat processing c o m p a n y , Meatco, is engulfed in a deepening crisis as allegations of systemic victimisation, pervasive racism, flagrant financial mismanagement, and egregious procedural abuse surfaced within its own leadership. Speaking to Confidente on condition of anonymity due to fear of severe intimidation, former and current employees painted a vivid picture of a “toxic environment” at the core of Meatco.

Shivolo dominates boxing ring

Trefina Shivolo, is trailblazing the boxing circles a one of the few female boxing referees and judges in the country, in a male-dominated sport.  She first started as a judge at the tender age of 16, before graduating as a referee in 2017.
During her time as a referee, she won numerous accolades and is currently a certified referee, which means that she eligible to officiate professional fights.

Shimooshili dims shine on Arrow’s acquisition

Former Blue Waters Sports Club chairperson, Robert Shimooshili has poured cold water on any conversation of acquiring Eleven Arrows. 

Shimooshili relinquished his position as chairperson of the club after becoming the Namibia Football Association (NFA) president two years ago. Eleven Arrows has over the years been Blue Waters’ biggest rival, with the two clubs playing their home matches at the Kuisebmund Stadium, while their training grounds are separate.
