The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has announced a special funding initiative aimed at students enrolling at its Eenhana and Lüderitz campuses. The university said the initiative will provide scholarships to 140 students across three key programs, reinforcing NUST’s commitment to community development and academic excellence.
The university said it offers scholarships to students in various programs, including scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as for mobility.
According to NUST, students may be eligible for scholarship if they meet certain requirements, such as being a Namibian citizen or having a high academic average. Student may be able to apply for scholarships through the NUST admissions facility. Students should be cautious of scams and verify the sources of any scholarship offer before providing personal data.
Investing in the Future, NUST’s latest scholarship initiative is a direct investment in Namibia’s future, specifically targeting students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), logistics, and energy sustainability.
The funding will cover 100 full scholarships for students enrolling in the Introduction to Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (InSTEM) bridging course at the Eenhana and Lüderitz campuses. 30 scholarships for students pursuing the Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Honours program at the Lüderitz campus. 10 scholarships for students entering the Master of Sustainable Energy Systems program, also based at the Lüderitz campus.
Furthermore, current NUST students enrolled in these programs who are willing to relocate to the Eenhana or Lüderitz campuses will have their registration and tuition fees fully refunded.
The expansion of scholarship opportunities to these campuses aligns with NUST’s mission to decentralize education and enhance industry-focused learning. The Eenhana campus plays a crucial role in reducing education costs for rural students, while the Lüderitz campus focuses on strengthening Namibia’s coastal industries, including marine engineering, logistics, and energy sustainability.
NUST has also introduced a debt reprieve to assist students struggling with registration fees. This initiative includes flexible payment plans, ensuring that financial challenges do not become a barrier to education.
