Two young women from the Miss Namibia 2025 Top 10 have been empowered to take their dreams even further thanks to the National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC), which awarded them a combined sponsorship of N$20,000. Johanna Swartbooi and Alica Mokhatu, both among this year’s Top 10 finalists, each received N$10,000 from the NYC as part of its commitment to youth empowerment and national representation. This act of support is not only a financial boost but a clear message that young Namibians, regardless of where they come from, can rise to represent their country with pride and purpose.
NYC Director Calista Schwartz Gowases, in announcing the sponsorship, emphasized the Council’s dedication to uplifting youth through action, not just words. “The slogan of the National Youth Council is ‘Youth Growing with the Nation,’ and we believe Johanna and Alica represent just that,” she said. “Their journey embodies the courage, discipline, and ambition we consistently encourage in young people across Namibia.”

Schwartz Gowases further expressed her hope that the two finalists will use their platforms to become more involved in youth-centered initiatives and continue to be inspiring examples for their peers.
The Mayor of Okahandja, Beatrice Kotungondo, also celebrated the achievement, saying, “It is true, something good can come from Okahandja, and these young women are proof of that.” She revealed that the Okahandja Municipality has allocated five hectares of land for agricultural youth projects, inviting NYC and the youth of the town to organise and seize the opportunity.
The mayor encouraged Johanna and Alica to be the first to "plant their seeds" both literally and figuratively as part of a brighter youth future.

This gesture from NYC goes beyond a single pageant; it is a call to all young people to pursue their dreams while staying rooted in community development and nation-building.
Johanna and Alica’s stories are a reminder that with support, belief, and boldness, Namibian youth can continue to rise, represent, and reshape their futures and that they truly are growing with the nation.
