Former Blue Waters Sports Club chairperson, Robert Shimooshili has poured cold water on any conversation of acquiring Eleven Arrows.

Shimooshili relinquished his position as chairperson of the club after becoming the Namibia Football Association (NFA) president two years ago. Eleven Arrows has over the years been Blue Waters’ biggest rival, with the two clubs playing their home matches at the Kuisebmund Stadium, while their training grounds are separate.

Arrows was previously owned by businessman Johnny Doeseb, and is currently playing in the Southern Stream First Division.
Meanwhile, Shimooshili denied any possibility of acquiring Arrows, he however did not rule out purchasing a club in the near future once his term as NFA’s boss comes to an end.

“It is not true. I do not know [where this is coming from]. They (Arrows) did not approached me because they know that I am not an
Eleven Arrows member and there is no way for me to join Arrows. I am not a player, only a player can do that,” explained Shimooshili.
Turning his attention to Blue Waters, he added: “My relationship with Blue Waters is healthy as usual.

If the leadership does not want to associate with me, they still need to inform me as I am a paid up member of Blue Waters. I am a product of Blue Waters.  It is my constituency,” said Shimooshili.

Records show, Shimooshili has previously invested an undisclosed amount into the club’s coffers Reportedly, to run a club a successfully in Namibian football, especially in the top flight football, an investor has to pump in at least N$800 000 per annum, while teams like African Stars, received an annual funding of N$1 million.
