As Mr. Etienne Maritz concludes his distinguished tenure as Executive Director of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS), it is fitting to reflect on the extraordinary contributions of a public servant whose leadership continues to shape the institution and strengthen public faith in government service. A local motor vehicle dealership has announced a recall of 657 vehicles in Namibia due to significant safety concerns.
The affected models include 579 Ford Rangers, 76 Ford Everests, and one Ford Transit Custom.
This forms part of a broader regional recall impacting over 21,000 vehicles across Southern Africa, with South Africa being the most affected.

In a groundbreaking move set to reshape Namibia’s tourism landscape, the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has announced the official launch of three regional offices, bringing tourism services directly to local communities from 1 September 2025.

Classes at Kaisosi Combined School in Rundu have been suspended earlier than usual for the past two weeks due to non-functional toilets, forcing hundreds of learners to relieve themselves in the nearby bush.
Hamunyera Julius Hambyuka Kavango East governor said he is aware of the issue.
“ I was only briefed by officials on Wednesday on this issues . I intend to call the ministry of education just to find out what is happening and what they are doing about it,” he said.
